Here are some ways to maximise the value of your Techno Corner computer:

• Be selective about what activities the children see. We recommend 4 or 5 games at a time so that the children are more likely to spend the time exploring and learning each activity in depth. Use the Teacher’s menu (Ctrl-Shift-S) to select the activities that children can access.
• Change activities every week or two to keep things fresh and interesting for the children.
• When you change activities, get children together to discuss how to use them and the concepts involved. Explain how to make the activities harder, or how to experiment with different options. You can learn about this in advance by using the book icon for each activity in the Teacher’s menu.
• Use the Techno Corner during group time. Children can take turns performing certain tasks/activities and discussing what they are doing and learning.
• Have some children show others how to use particular activities. This helps them better understand the activity and gives them extra confidence.
