There are lots of ways to teach children sizes. We have found that playing dress-ups is a fun and interesting way to do so.
In this game we have made two modes. Free play and directional. In the free play mode children can dress the characters how they like. However, there remains an option of achieving a correct placement of items. Characters are happiest when the correct sizes are used. Even though characters may be displeased with a child's choice, that is OK. It looks very funny when big things are put on Little and vice versa. You may find that children will get the sizing right at first, but later intentionally place the wrong sized items to see how they look.
Encourage children to try all of the items regardless of the character's size. Have a laugh with them about their creations. Praise them for their bold choice of hats and shoes. Wow! That is amazing!
Have a dress ups box available for children. They will love entering a fantasy world where they can role-play simply by changing clothes. Children can transfer the concepts they see in our computer game to actually trying the same sort of activity in their own play area. They can see what it is like to put on shoes that are too small and big. Have a giggle at clomping around in huge shoes and seeing that little slippers just won't fit.
